A Tristan Josephic field goal in the waning seconds gave host Norwin a 24-21 victory against Canon-McMillan in Class 6A play. Josephic’s 29-yard kick came with nine seconds left, capping a 12-play drive for the Knights (6-3, 3-2). QB Tristyn Tavares hit on 14-of-23 passes for 118 yards, while he compiled 15 carries for 126 yards and two scores on the ground. Ty Jansma paced the Big Macs (4-5, 2-3) with 179 yards through the air.
Penn-Trafford 42 Armstrong 7 WATCH
Nate Desmond passed for four scores, while Nick Ponko notched a pair of long touchdowns in leading Penn-Trafford to a convincing 42-7 win at home against Armstrong in the Class 5A Big East Conference. In addition to an 80-yard receiving score, Ponko produced a 50-yard interception return touchdown for the Warriors (8-1, 4-1), clinching a playoff berth. Jaydon Oliver threw for 140 yards and a TD in the loss for the River Hawks (3-6, 2-3).
Derry Area 33 Mount Pleasant Area 13 WATCH
Derry Area claimed a crucial 33-13 win at home against Mount Pleasant Area in the Class 3A Interstate Conference. Max Doherty accumulated 118 yards rushing and a score for the Trojans (5-4, 2-2), while Anthony Sacco registered 161 yards passing and a pair of touchdowns to Max Doperak. In the defeat for the Vikings (5-4, 2-2), Richard Shawley had five catches spanning 64 yards.
Elizabeth Forward 42 Southmoreland 0 WATCH
In a battle for first place in the Class 3A Interstate Conference, Southmoreland was overwhelmed at home in a 42-0 loss against Elizabeth Forward. EF quarterback Ryan Messina rushed 22 times for 193 yards and three TDs, while he completed 14-of-19 throws for 160 yards for the Warriors (8-1, 4-0). Meanwhile, Landon Honick caught five passes for 44 yards. In suffering their first loss of the season, the Scotties (8-1, 3-1) still clinched a playoff berth. QB Dawson Wolfe went 6-of-19 passing for 102 yards for Southmoreland.
Mount Lebanon 28 Hempfield Area 6
Hempfield Area could not contain Patrick Smith, who sparked host Mount Lebanon (2-7, 2-3) to a 28-6 victory in Class 6A. Smith rushed 19 times for 200 yards and three scores for the Blue Devils, while he added 67 yards through the air. In the defeat, Dom Detruf went 27-of-48 passing for 239 yards and a score for the Spartans (4-5, 1-5), as he connected with Aidan Stinebiser on a 7-yard pass for the lone TD.
Gateway 27 Greater Latrobe 24
Greater Latrobe suffered a narrow 27-24 loss at home against Gateway in the Class 5A Big East Conference. Dom Scarton threw for 157 yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats (2-6. 1-4). Mayson Mitchell paced the Gators (3-6, 3-3), throwing for 261 yards and three TDs.
Woodland Hills 55 Franklin Regional 7
Franklin Regional was overmatched in a 55-7 road loss against Woodland Hills in a Class 5A Big East Conference matchup. The lone score for the Panthers came on a 75-yard kickoff return score by Jaymier Austin. Taylor Reid posted three rushing TDs for the Wolverines (7-2, 5-0), who clinched the conference crown.
Belle Vernon Area 48 Ringgold 6
Belle Vernon Area scored on every possession, rolling to a 48-6 victory at home against Ringgold in the Class 4A Big Six Conference. Curty Wade paced the Leopards (3-5, 2-2), as he hit 7-of-13 throws for 110 yards and a TD, while adding 103 yards and two scores on the ground. Chace Petrosky added 16 carries for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Greensburg Salem 41 Yough 7
Brody Chismar had another big game to lead host Greensburg Salem to a 41-7 win against Yough. Chismar amassed 220 yards passing and three scores, adding 96 yards on the ground, while Max Topper caught nine passes for 139 yards and two TDs for the Golden Lions (3-6, 1-3). Braydon Miller added three grabs for 63 yards and a score for GS. Johnny Gergely contributed a 1-yard touchdown run for the Cougars (2-7, 0-4) who dropped their seventh in a row.
Imani Christian Academy 53 Burrell 7
Burrell had no answer for Gabe Jenkins, who led Imani Christian Academy to a lopsided 53-7 victory in the Class 3A Allegheny Seven Conference. Jenkins threw for 258 yards and five scores for the Saints (9-0, 5-0), while rushing for another 132 yards and a TD. Trey Coury posted the only TD for the Buccaneers (3-6, 2-3) on a 23-yard run.
Deer Lakes 29 Valley 14
Despite a pair of touchdown passes from Brendon Knuckles, homestanding Valley fell 29-14 to Deer Lakes in a Class 3A Allegheny Seven Conference tilt. Knuckles’ scores went to Shawn Wilkerson and Raydon Thomas for the Vikings (0-9, 0-5). Evan Moore registered a pair of touchdowns for the Lancers (2-7, 1-4).
Steel Valley 49 Ligonier Valley 0
Ligonier Valley was overmatched by Steel Valley and Da’Ron Barksdale in a 49-0 defeat in the Class 2A Allegheny Conference. Barksdale compiled 240 yards rushing and four scores on the ground for the Ironmen (6-3, 4-1).
Jeannette 50 Springdale 8
With Jayce Powell leading the way, Jeannette steamrolled past host Springdale 50-8 in the Class 1A Eastern Conference. Powell caught three passes for 122 yards and two scores, while he added a punt return score for the Jayhawks (6-3, 4-2). Moreover, Kymon’e Brown completed 8-of-13 throws for 170 yards and two scores, while he rushed three times for 30 yards and another TD. Corey Brooks had the only TD for the Dynamos (0-7, 0-5).
Frazier 35 Greensburg Central Catholic 33
Greensburg Central Catholic’s late two-point conversion attempt was denied, as the Centurions fell at home to Frazier 35-33 in a Class 1A Eastern Conference battle. Derek Diamond and Lincoln Dye each scored twice for the Commodores (5-4, 3-3). Samir Crosby produced a late fumble recovery TD for the Centurions (4-5, 2-4).

Monessen was on the wrong end of a 44-7 outcome against Bishop Canevin in a Class 1A Black Hills Conference game. Tavian Taylor notched a 43-yard TD run for the host Greyhounds (5-4, 2-3).
Plum 29 Kiski Area 12
Three interceptions doomed Kiski Area, which blew a second-half lead in a 29-12 loss at Plum in a Class 5A nonconference clash. Quarterback Landyn Artman went 13-of-24 passing for 178 yards and a TD for the Cavaliers (4-5), but committed three turnovers. Andrew Finney added an 85-yard touchdown reception for KA.
