Norwin 54 Franklin Regional 7 WATCH

With Potter Brozeski and Giovanni Rothrauff leading the way, host Norwin overwhelmed Franklin Regional 54-7 at Penn-Trafford High School. Brozeski posted five catches for 96 yards, including three TDs, and he also notched a 45-yard punt return score. Rothrauff, meanwhile, amassed 24 carries for 207 yards and two touchdowns, while QB Max Ritz hit on 9-of-15 throws for 150 yards and three TDs for the Knights (2-1). Jet Taylor was a bright spot for the Panthers (0-3), as he posted 14 carries for 98 yards and their lone score.

Hempfield Area 44 Trinity 20 WATCH

Carden Lippmann propelled the Hempfield Area offense, as the homestanding Spartans bested Trinity 44-20. The Spartans QB was 14-of-22 passing for 197 yards and three TDs and one interception, while he posted a dozen carries for 77 yards and two more scores on the ground. DeRon Hunter also had a big game for the Spartans (1-2), catching four passes for 125 yards and two scores, while Andrew Bentz rushed 11 times for 71 yards and a score, and he also found paydirt on a 7-yard reception. Owen Gardner paced the Hillers (2-1) with 14 carries for 70 yards and a TD.

Penn-Trafford 22 Moon Area 7 WATCH

Ben Grabowski was the catalyst offensively, while the defense created six turnovers in Penn-Trafford’s 22-7 road win against Moon Area at Robert Morris University. Grabowski registered 23 carries for 177 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, while he also threw for 104 yards on 8-of-16 passing for the Warriors (3-0). Meanwhile, the PT defense snagged three interceptions and also recovered three fumbles. The only points for the Tigers (0-2) came on a 57-yard connection from Richard McMullen to Savario Vandetti.

Derry Area 37 East Allegheny 7 WATCH

Max Doherty found the end zone two more times, as Derry Area rolled to a 37-7 win at home against East Allegheny. In addition to Doherty’s efforts for the Trojans (2-1), Anthony Quidetto accounted for 107 yards and a score on the ground, handing the Wildcats (2-1) their first setback.

Greater Latrobe 45 Indiana Area 7

Greater Latrobe took command in the first half, and cruised to a decisive 45-7 triumph against Indiana Area. Quarterback Dom Scarton was 5-of-7 through the air for 72 yards, with two scores and a pick for the Wildcats (2-1), while Dante Durigon posted 89 yards and a pair of TDs on just four carries. Drew Blossey, Eli Meeder and Pickle Burkett also scored first-half TDs for the Cats, who led 38-0 at the intermission. In the loss, the Little Indians (1-2) were led by Jason Strack, who threw for 71 yards and a score, and also rushed for 35 yards.

Armstrong 35 Kiski Area 28

Despite a prolific passing attack, Kiski Area came up short in a 35-28 loss against Armstrong. Cavaliers QB Landyn Artman compiled 320 passing yards and three TDs and two interceptions, while Bryce Bowman had 10 grabs for 127 yards and Daevion McNeil notched five catches for 138 yards and three touchdowns for KA (0-3). Armstrong QB Jaydon Oliver amassed 180 yards passing and two scores, while he added 161 yards and another score on the ground for the River Hawks (2-1).

Burrell 42 Greensburg Salem 39

Burrell outlasted Greensburg Salem 42-39 in a Westmoreland County shootout. Antonio Perkins posted 19 carries for 155 yards three scores, and he went 7-of-17 through the air for 143 yards and another two touchdowns, along with an interception, for the Buccaneers (3-0). His featured target was Fabian Wilson, who had four catches for 114 yards and two TDs. Trey Coury also scored a touchdown for Burrell. In the setback for the Golden Lions (0-3), Brody Chismar had another stellar showing, as he hit on 20-of-37 throws for 360 yards and three scores and two picks, while he rushed 21 times for 125 yards and a trio of touchdowns. Brandt Sandstrom posted six catches for 155 yards for GS.

Ligonier Valley 45 Yough 0

Ligonier Valley pitched another shutout, as the Rams dominated host Yough 45-0. LV quarterback Levi Foust produced 123 yards and two scores on the ground, and Blake Hitt added 101 yards rushing and another TD for the Rams (3-0). The Cougars (0-3) suffered their second whitewash of the year.

Belle Vernon Area 19 West Mifflin Area 12

Jace Gedekoh factored into all three scores in leading Belle Vernon Area to a 19-12 win at West Mifflin Area. Gedekoh threw for a score, and rushed for two others for the Leopards (2-1). That was enough to overcome a big performance from West Mifflin’s Armand Hill, who rushed 23 times for 255 yards and two scores for the Titans (1-2).

Southmoreland 42 Uniontown Area 21

Southmoreland captured its first win of the campaign in a 42-21 home triumph against Uniontown Area (2-1). Dawson Wolfe rushed for 130 yards and four scores for the Scotties (2-1)

South Allegheny 41 Mount Pleasant Area 3

Mount Pleasant Area couldn’t slow the South Allegheny rushing attack, as the Vikings suffered a lopsided 41-3 defeat. Nasir Roccman scored three rushing TDs for the Gladiators (1-2), handing the Vikings (2-1) their first loss.

Valley 41 Quaker Valley 0

Valley and Sean Wilkerson left no doubt in a 41-0 blowout win at Quaker Valley. Wilkerson provided TD runs of 16 and 6 yards, and he added a 44-yard touchdown reception from Skyler Lincoln. Juzeff Betts added a 16-yard score on the ground for the Vikings (2-1), while the Valley defense blanked the Quakers (0-3).

Jeannette 28 New Brighton 14

Led by their sophomore signal caller, Jeannette knocked off homestanding New Brighton 28-14. QB Anthony Stuchell tossed three TDs for the Jayhawks (2-1), and Jayce Powell found the end zone twice in the triumph.

Greensburg Central Catholic 41 Carmichaels 8

Greensburg Central Catholic (2-1) secured a convincing 41-8 victory at Carmichaels (1-2).

Monessen 20 Frazier 14

Monessen narrowly edged Frazier 20-14. Kaier Payne racked up 187 yards and two touchdowns through the air for the Greyhounds (3-0), while Jay’veon Jeffries posted six receptions for 94 yards and two scores.
