Greensburg Central Catholic boys basketball coach Christian Hyland is stepping down from the position after six seasons at the helm.

Hyland, a 2014 graduate of GCC where he played under coach Greg Bisignani, said there were multiple reasons for resigning but didn't want to get into details.

Under his guidance, Greensburg Central Catholic posted a sparkling record of 119-31, made the WPIAL Class 2A semifinals twice and advanced to the district postseason all six years. Last year the Centurions finished with a 26-4 record, losing in the PIAA semifinals to Sewickley Academy.

Hyland was hired in 2019 at the age of 24, one of the youngest head coaches in the state at the time.
