After four years at the helm of the Mount Pleasant wrestling program, head coach Zach Snyder is resigning.

"This was a decision that was not made lightly, and it was extremely difficult for me," Snyder said in a statement. "I am heartbroken that I will no longer be around to help these kids continue to improve and grow, but the decision was based on the need to be present for my own children and their increasing participation in sports."

Snyder, an '09 Penn State graduate, helped Dayton Pitzer capture PIAA Class AA gold in 2021 and 2022.

Last season, the Vikings finished with an 11-6 overall record in team duals and lost to Burgettstown in the WPIAL postseason. Jamison Poklembo was a WPIAL and Southwest Regional runner-up at 133 pounds.

Snyder previously served as an assistant coach at Hempfield Area and his alma mater Connellsville.
