Penn-Trafford’s offense exploded in a 9-2 road win against Hempfield Area on Monday at the Kirk Nevin Arena in Greensburg. The Warriors scored two goals apiece in the first and second periods, and then tacked on five more in the final stanza to cruise to a victory against the Spartans for the second time this season.

The Warriors opened the scoring with less than six minutes left in the first, as Ben Zierski scored an unassisted tally. Aiden Drotos added to the lead with just 17 seconds left in the period for PT.

Penn-Trafford extended the lead beyond the halfway point of the second, as Robert Thatcher tallied a powerplay goal on the first man-advantage of the contest. TJ Ferguson added another goal to put the Warriors ahead 4-0 through two periods.

The teams combined for seven goals over the final dozen minutes of regulation, beginning with a marker by PT blueliner Cam Kiste. The Spartans finally got on the board with 10:39 remaining, courtesy of Nick Crupie. Brock Bienemann, Thatcher, Drotos, and Roman Catello added goals for the Warriors, while Jonny Holtzman also tallied for the Spartans.
