Norwin 41 Mount Lebanon 26   LISTEN BROADCAST

Keyed by a stellar performance at the foul line, Norwin bested Mount Lebanon 41-26 in a Section 2-6A battle. The host Knights (15-3, 7-1), who secured a playoff spot earlier this week, went 15-for-15 on free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Nia O’Barto and Aubrey Graney tied for game-high honors with 14 points apiece, with O’Barto tallying all of her points in the second half. Anessa Donoghue led the Blue Devils (4-13, 2-6) with nine points.

Canon-McMillan 59 Hempfield Area 41

Despite a strong effort by Reager Fisher, Hempfield Area tasted defeat 59-41 at home against Canon-McMillan in Section 2-6A action. Fisher led the Spartans (12-7, 2-5) with a game-high 16 points. The Big Macs (15-4, 7-1) used a balanced attack, with four players scoring in double figures, including 13 courtesy of Lauren Borella.

Fox Chapel Area 54 Franklin Regional 35

Franklin Regional fell at home to Fox Chapel Area 54-35 in a crucial tilt in Section 1-5A. Lyla Jablon produced 23 points in the win for the Foxes (11-8, 6-3). In the setback, Alyssa Bridges paced FR (8-10, 5-5) with 11 points.

Indiana 40 Greater Latrobe 31

Greater Latrobe trailed by just two points after three but let Indiana pull away in a 40-31 loss to the Indians in Section 2-5A play. The Wildcats trailed 27-25 through three but the Indians held a 13-6 scoring edge in the final quarter to win it. Maggie Maiers totaled 10 points for Greater Latrobe (9-6, 6-4) while Julia Antonacci and Laken Kugler both finished with 10 for Indiana (16-3, 8-1).

Burrell 55 Freeport 39

Chase Coury poured in 19 points as Burrell won at Freeport 55-39 in a Section 1-4A clash. In addition to Coury, McKenna Miller and Casey Brancato each netted 10 points for the Bucs (13-6, 7-3) who led 33-19 at halftime. Sydney Reiser racked up 19 points for the Yellowjackets (10-9, 4-6).

Belle Vernon 60 Laurel Highlands 37

Belle Vernon Area maintained its hold on first place in Section 3-4A, as the Leopards cruised to a 60-37 win at Laurel Highlands. Emerson LaCarte led playoff-bound BVA (17-3, 11-1) with 14 points, while Saylor Lee and Lyla McConnell added 12 and 10 points, respectively. Taylor Schwertfeger tallied 16 points in the setback for the Mustangs (6-13, 4-7).

South Park 67 Yough 27

Yough fell behind 27-6 through the first eight minutes of the game and dropped a 67-27 decision to South Park in a Section 3-4A contest. Evelyn Gates tallied nine points to lead the Cougars (7-12, 1-10) while Hayley Bennett's 15 points paced the Eagles (12-7, 9-2).

Mount Pleasant 33 Southmoreland 28

Ryleigh Drzal's 15 points helped lead Mount Pleasant to a 33-28 victory against Southmoreland in Section 3-4A action. Danica Trainer added 10 points for the Vikings (8-10, 5-6) while Ashley Seder collected a game-high 16 points for the Scotties (1-18, 1-11).

Greensburg Central Catholic 82 Ligonier Valley 26

Erica Gribble racked up 27 points in Greensburg Central Catholic's 82-26 win over Ligonier Valley in a Section 2-3A game. Jayla Peterson tossed in 23 points while Abby Dlugos chipped in with 11 for the Centurions (13-5, 10-1). Ruby Smith notched 11 points for the Rams (4-13, 3-7).

Jeannette 39 Apollo-Ridge 34

Navarah Smith's massive game for Jeannette carried the Jayhawks to a 39-34 triumph against Apollo-Ridge in Section 4-2A. Smith poured in 31 points plus added 12 steals and four blocks for Jeannette (13-5, 4-3) which held a 12-5 scoring edge in the third quarter. Madison Hughlely came away with 14 points for the Vikings (9-10, 3-4).
