Carmine Lacava buried a three-pointer at the buzzer to lift Highlands past Burrell 68-65 in a Section 1-4A opening game. The Bucs were on their way to what it looked like a comfortable win leading 62-54 with four minutes left but the Golden Rams (4-1, 1-0) finished the game on a 14-3 run. Ryan Wass connected on seven three pointers and finished with a game-high 23 points for Burrell (2-3, 0-1) while Adam Wass tallied 20 points.

Derry Area couldn't recover from a slow start, trailing 13-2 after one, in a 56-50 loss to begin Section 3-4A play. Stanley Rajkovich racked up a game-high 23 points for the Trojans (3-3, 0-1) while teammate Brayden Robinson put in 16. B.J. Warren's 22 points paced the Wildcats (3-1, 1-0).

Ligonier Valley outscored Geibel Catholic 14-0 in overtime to secure an 84-72 non-section victory. Michael Vargulish-Graver poured in a game-high 28 points for the Rams with Michael Wisniewski just behind finishing with 25 points. Simeon Pope (14) and Noah Knupp (10) also finished in double-figures for Ligonier Valley (3-2, 0-0) which shot 33-of-58 from the foul line. Geibel Catholic falls to (3-2, 0-0).
