AJ Yeboah had a record-setting effort in leading host Greater Latrobe to a 38-14 triumph against Derry Area. Yeboah notched 15 carries for a GL-record 264 yards, scoring a pair of touchdowns. Meanwhile, Dom Scarton threw for 153 yards and two scores for the Wildcats (1-0). Ty Wisniewski, Dante Durigon, and Eli Meeder also scored for GL. In the setback for the Trojans (0-1), Max Doherty rushed 18 times for 82 yards and two TDs, while Nate Stough caught three passes for 95 yards.

Belle Vernon Area failed to contain quarterback Harrison Kolling and running back Tyler Eber, who propelled Thomas Jefferson to a 34-6 triumph. Kolling went 5-of-8 passing for 159 yards and three TDs for the visiting Jaguars (1-0). Elijah Fant caught two passes for 101 yards and a TD for the Jags, while Eber notched 26 carries for 143 yards and two scores. The lone score for the Leopards (0-1) was a 30-yard connection from Jace Gedekoh to Cam Jenko. Chace Petrosky compiled a dozen carries spanning 80 yards for BVA.

Hempfield Area held a 10-0 lead in the first half, but could not hang on in a 14-13 setback at Bethel Park. In the loss, Carden Lippmann was efficient for the Spartans (0-1), going 8-of-10 for 140 yards, with one score and one interception. Deron Hunter paced Hempfield with three receptions for 104 yards and a TD. Max Novak went 10-of-19 through the air for 66 yards and a score, and his fourth-quarter TD run was the difference for the Black Hawks (1-0).

Penn Hills 34 Franklin Regional 21

Franklin Regional suffered a 34-21 defeat at home to Penn Hills. Brock Bowser threw for 141 yards in the setback for the Panthers (0-1). Meanwhile, the Indians (1-0) were paced by Jaysen Booker, who amassed 143 yards and two scores through the air.

Gateway 31 Kiski Area 10

Doomed by an early deficit, Kiski Area fell to Gateway 31-10. The Cavaliers (0-1) trailed 17-0 in the second quarter. Kiski Area QB Landyn Artman threw for nearly 140 yards, and he added almost 60 yards on the ground, including a TD. Mayson Mitchell was strong for the Gators (1-0), as he threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns.

Greensburg Central Catholic had a dominant rushing performance in a 41-0 whitewash against Yough. Blase Bugosh posted four rushing scores for the host Centurions (1-0), while Max Weber also scored twice on the ground for GCC against the Cougars (0-1).

Mount Pleasant Area 24 Laurel Highlands 17 OT

A touchdown run by Bobby Smithnosky on fourth down in overtime proved the difference, as Mount Pleasant Area outlasted Laurel Highlands 24-17. Kaden Hudec exploded for an 80-yard TD run, while Tristan Wtorkiewicz also found the end zone on a run for the Vikings (1-0). Jonah Coleman caught a TD pass for the Mustangs (0-1).

Connellsville Area 21 Southmoreland 15

Despite a strong effort by QB Dawson Wolfe, Southmoreland fell short in a 21-15 loss at Connellsville Area. Wolfe notched 28 carries for 161 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 67 yards for the Scotties (0-1). Reese Jordan added a TD run for Southmoreland. Linkon Keller caught three passes for 179 yards and a TD for the Falcons (1-0), including the decisive 80-yard score in the fourth quarter, while Jeffrey Nicholson threw for 259 yards.

Highlands 52 Greensburg Salem 21

Greensburg Salem’s defense couldn’t stop Tevin Owen-Cratsenberg, who went for 240 yards and two scores on the ground to lead Highlands to a 52-21 triumph in Greensburg. In the setback, the host Golden Lions (0-1) received a 99-yard kickoff return score by Stephen Monoghan. Moreover, QB Brody Chismar etched his name in the record books, going 10-of-14 for 155 yards and two touchdowns, which moved him into first on the career passing TD list. Braydon Miller was on the receiving end of both scoring plays from Chismar. For the Golden Rams (1-0), QB Logan Thies threw for two TDs and rushed for two more.

Antonio Perkins had another epic performance, leading Burrell to a 32-7 win against Albert Gallatin. The QB rushed for 222 yards and three TDs in the triumph for the Bucs (1-0). He and teammate Trey Coury both surpassed 2,000 career rushing yards in the contest against the Colonials (0-1).

Valley snapped a 25-game skid with a 14-12 win against Serra Catholic. Roman D’Argan and Davell McWright each found paydirt for the visiting Vikings (1-0).

Ligonier Valley 42 Frazier 0

Levi Foust proved a dual-threat in guiding Ligonier Valley to a 42-0 blowout against Frazier. Foust, the Rams signal caller, threw a 66-yard TD, and he added 113 yards and a score on the ground for LV (1-0).

South Range, Ohio 49 Jeannette 21

Despite a big effort from Jayce Powell, Jeannette could not provide enough resistance in a 49-21 home loss to South Range, Ohio. Powell contributed a 90-yard kickoff return score, and added seven receptions for 92 yards and another score in the setback for the Jayhawks (0-1). Anthony Stuchell completed 11-of-14 throws for 102 yards and a TD. The Raiders (2-0) scored on seven of their possessions in the first half, and rushed for a total of 232 yards, while Nick Toy threw for 95 yards and two TD.

Kayden Kolbeck caught eight passes for 153 yards, rushed four times for 129 yards, and accounted for three touchdowns to lead Monessen (1-0) to a 36-14 victory against Charleroi (0-1).
