Owen Sinclair blasted three home runs and collected six RBIs leading Murrysville to a 9-2 victory over Penn-Trafford in the Westmoreland County Junior Legion district championship at Penn Township Municipal Park Monday.

Sinclair connected on a three-run homer in the first inning and followed with a two-run shot in the second inning. Chase Lemke also added a RBI double in the second frame to give the sixth-seeded Eagles an early 6-0 lead over the top-seeded Warriors.

Josh Hudak led off the third inning with a solo home run to swell the Murrysville advantage to 7-0.

Penn-Trafford cut into the lead in the bottom of the third inning as Ethan Septak singled in Carmen Metcalf and Jonathan Lovre's groundout brought home Drew Sherwin to make it 7-2.

The defending champion Warriors would manage just two hits in the last four innings, however, as the duo of N.J. Ramchandron and Hudak kept PT's bats at bay.

Sinclair cracked his third longball of the game to begin the seventh inning and the last run scored on a groundout by Anthony Mitchell to set the final score.

In addition to Sinclair's career day, Luke Williams singled twice and scored a run for Murrysville while Lemke reached base twice, drove in a run and scored once.

Ruby and Septak each finished with a pair of hits for Penn-Trafford with Metcalf reaching base three times.

Ramchandron allowed two runs on five hits and struck out three in four and two-thirds innings to earn the victory for the Eagles. Hudak sat down seven of the nine batters he faced, four by way of strikeout, to close out the game.

Both teams will now prepare to play in the Western Regional Tournament in Homer City starting on July 22nd. Penn-Trafford won last year's regional and state tournament.
