Derry Area 53 Deer Lakes 32
Tiana Moracco exploded for 39 points leading Derry Area to a 53-32 Section 1-4A triumph over visiting Deer Lakes. The Trojans trailed 15-10 after one quarter but outscored the Lakers in every quarter the rest of the way. Derry Area improves to 5-5, 2-3.
Penn-Trafford 54 North Hills 21
Penn-Trafford broke a 10-10 tie by outscoring North Hills 24-0 in the second quarter and went on to secure a 54-21 Section 1-6A victory at North Hills. Maura Suman scored 14 points to lead the Warriors (5-5, 3-2).
Norwin 59 Seneca Valley 46
Norwin utilized a big second half to pull away from Seneca Valley and earn a 59-46 win in Section 1-6A action. The Knights trailed 26-23 at halftime but held a 36-20 scoring edge in the second half. Chloe Lukondi tossed in 18 points to pace the Knights (7-3, 4-1) while teammate Alyssa Laukus chipped in with 16.
Hempfield Area 60 Canon-McMillan 56
Hempfield Area claimed its first Section 2-6A triumph of the season, topping Canon-McMillan 60-56 in Greensburg. Four players finished in double-figures for the Spartans (2-9, 1-4) lead by Alexis Hainesworth's 18 points. Brooke McCoy came in with 13 points, Mia Shipman ended with 11 and Sarah Pokul scored 10.
Indiana 69 Kiski Area 37
Kiski Area trailed 24-5 through the first eight minutes and never recovered in a 69-37 loss at Indiana in Section 2-5A action. Abbie Johns came in with 15 points for the Cavaliers (5-6, 1-3).
Woodland Hills 49 Greensburg Salem 40
Woodland Hills outscored Greensburg Salem 16-7 in the final quarter to pull away and win 49-40 in a Section 4-5A match up. Abby Mankins finished with 13 points to pace the Golden Lions (9-2, 0-1).
Southmoreland 50 Elizabeth Forward 35
Southmoreland went on a 15-4 run in the second quarter and went on to secure a 50-35 Section 3-4A victory at Elizabeth Forward. Olivia Cernuto's 23 points topped the Scotties (8-2, 3-1) while Gracie Spadaro tallied 15 points.
West Mifflin 60 Ligonier Valley 46
Ligonier Valley remained winless on the season, dropping a 60-46 Section 3-4A contest. The Rams are now 0-10, 0-4.
Greensburg Central Catholic 51 Ellis School 17
Greensburg Central Catholic outscored Ellis School in every quarter, going on to a Section 4-2A triumph at home. Caddie Peters racked up 16 points for the Centurions (6-2, 2-0) with Mya Morgan scoring 13.
Armstrong 60 Burrell 29
Armstrong outscored Burrell in every quarter, including 25-12 in the second, in a 60-29 win at Burrell in a non-section contest. Addy Landowski's nine points lead the Buccaneers (1-10, 1-3).
Franklin Regional 32 Fox Chapel 24
Brooke Schirmer finished with 10 points, leading Franklin Regional to a 32-24 non-section win at Fox Chapel. The Panthers are now 5-5, 1-2 on the year.
