Butler's terrific season continued on Wednesday as the Golden Tornado crowned five champions, plus captured the team title, in the 23rd annual Southmoreland Holiday Classic Wrestling Tournament.

Two of the five Butler champs registered falls as Levi Donnel pinned Southmoreland's Tristan Ice early in the second period at 160 pounds and Landon Christie earned a second period fall against Bedford's Kylar Claycomb in the 215 pound bout.

Santino Sloboda (107), Gavin Rush (133) and Mickey Kreinbucher (189) all won by decisions for Butler.

In the 114-pound bout, Plum's Rylen Campbell came back to defeat Jorden Williams of Chartiers-Houston in sudden victory. Trailing 3-1 in the third period, Campbell got a two-point takedown with 1:29 left in the match to force overtime. He then exploded for an escape off the opening whistle of overtime to capture the victory.

At 145 pounds, Marion Center's Liam Cornetto used an escape in the third period to win a tight match 3-2 against Tyler Debnar of Beth-Center.

Aside from Ice only one other wrestler from Westmoreland County competed in the finals as Mount Pleasant's Joseph Longhi lost by a 9-3 decision to Plum's Sam Snyder at 121 pounds.

Following Butler's 255.5 points in the team race was Plum (182), Corry Area (151.5), United (141), and McGuffey (136) to round out the top five. Mount Pleasant place eighth, Southmoreland came in 18th, Derry Area finished 19th and Greensburg Salem was 22nd.
