Norwin 61 Pine-Richland 35

Norwin exploded for 40 points in the first half and went on to a 61-35 Section 1-6A triumph at Pine-Richland. Three players reached double-figures for the Knights (4-1, 2-0) with Brianna Zajicek putting in 13 points to lead the way. Alyssa Laukus and Chloe Lukondi added 12 and 11 points respectively. Norwin will travel to Kennedy Catholic on Wednesday.

North Allegheny 51 Penn-Trafford 27

North Allegheny stormed out to a 21-10 lead and shutout Penn-Trafford in the second quarter en route to a 51-27 Section 1-6A victory in Wexford. Olivia Pepple was the lone Warrior to reach double-figures in the contest scoring 12 points. Penn-Trafford (0-4, 0-2) plays at Hempfield on Wednesday in a non-section tilt.

Peters Township 59 Hempfield Area 52

Peters Township's Journey Thompson collected 22 points, reaching 1,000 in her career, leading the Indians to a 59-22 win against Hempfield in Section 2-6A. Brooke McCoy scored 21 points to pace the Spartans (1-4, 0-2) with teammate Sarah Podkul tallying 18. Hempfield held a 26-24 edge at halftime but was outscored 35-26 in the final two quarters.

Woodland Hills 72 Franklin Regional 45

Franklin Regional was outscored 28-2 in the first quarter and despite playing better in the second frame, the Panthers couldn't dig out of the big hole in a 72-45 Section 4-5A loss to Woodland Hills. Avery Musto put in eight points to lead the Panthers (3-2, 0-1).

Highlands 50 Derry Area 32

Derry trailed just 32-29 through three quarters but was outscored by Highlands 18-3 in the fourth quarter and dropped the Section 1-4A contest 50-32 on the road. Tiana Moracco poured in a game-high 23 points for the Trojans (2-3, 1-1) who will host non-section Leechburg on Wednesday.

Knoch 59 Burrell 23

Burrell fell behind quickly and couldn't recover in a 59-23 loss at Knoch in Section 1-4A play. Addy Landowski scored six points for the Buccaneers (0-5, 0-2) who were down 25-12 after the first quarter.

Mount Pleasant 54 West Mifflin 35

Tiffany Zelmore tallied 25 points for Mount Pleasant, leading the Vikings to a 54-35 win in Section 3-4A action. Mount Pleasant (2-2, 1-1) held a 17-9 scoring edge in the third quarter.

Southmoreland 51 Ligonier Valley 20

Olivia Cernuto and Gracie Spadaro each dropped in 20 points to lead Southmoreland to a 51-20 victory over Ligonier Valley in a Section 3-4A game. The Scotties (4-0, 1-0) raced out to a 20-5 advantage after one and lead 28-7 at halftime. In addition to her point total, Spadaro also grabbed 11 rebounds. Haley Boyd finished with 10 points for the Rams (0-4, 0-2).

Belle Vernon 43 Yough 34

Belle Vernon used a 12-5 run in the third quarter to take control of the game and go on to a 43-34 Section 3-4A victory at Yough. Viva Kreis tossed in 16 points for the Leopards (4-1, 2-0) while Autumn Matthews scored a game-high 18 points for the Cougars (1-4, 1-1).

Geibel Catholic 42 Jeanentte 37 OT

Jeannette continued non-section play with a 42-37 overtime loss at Geibel Catholic. Zoey Vincent had a big game, scoring 19 points for the Jayhawks (0-4, 0-0).
