Norwin's historic season came to an end one step away from the state championship at Chambersburg High School on Tuesday.
The Knights allowed a first half goal and couldn't get the equalizer in a 1-0 loss to Central Bucks South in the PIAA Class 4A Semifinals.
The Titans scored the lone tally of the match in the 15th minute as Nate MacCloud attempted a cross which deflected off of Norwin defender Rick Zappone and into the Knights goal. Norwin had chances but was unable to even the contest, getting shut out for the first time since October 3rd.
Goalkeeper Anthony Scalise, playing in his final game for Norwin, finished with four saves. Pat VanLuvanee also turned away four shots for the Titans.
Central Bucks South (19-5-2), the No. 6 seed out of District 1, will play District 1 champ Conestoga in the PIAA title game on Friday in Mechanicsburg.
The Knights, who made an incredible run to capture their first ever WPIAL championship, finish the season with a 17-6-1 record.
