Dave grew up in Westmoreland County and graduated from Penn-Trafford High School in 2008. Following his graduation from P-T, he moved on to major in Communications at Waynesburg University, where he focused on journalism & sports broadcasting and studied under the tutelage of Lanny Frattare, former voice of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

During his time at Waynesburg Dave covered a multitude of Yellow Jacket sports, both for the school newspaper and on the air for the campus radio and television stations. He garnered play-by-play experience in football, women’s soccer, men’s & women’s basketball, wrestling, and baseball & softball. He also served as an editorial intern for Pittsburgh Magazine and worked part-time as a board operator, news anchor and associate sports announcer for WJPA Radio in Washington, Pennsylvania.

After graduating from Waynesburg in 2012, the Harrison City native continued his work as a freelance sports broadcaster, recently adding girls & boys volleyball and girls lacrosse to the list of sports for which he’s handled play-by-play duties. In his broadcasting career, Dave has called two Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Basketball Championships, the PAC Wrestling Championships, the PAC Women’s & Men’s Soccer Championships, and two WPIAL Boys Volleyball Championships.

Dave has called Penn-Trafford football games on Westmoreland Sports Network since 2013 and has also broadcast high school basketball.
