Hempfield Area 77 Norwin 72       WATCH BROADCAST

Fox Chapel 89 Greensburg Salem 22

Greensburg Salem allowed first place Fox Chapel to score 29 points in the first quarter and went on to lose 89-22 in a Section 3-6A match up. Christian Hostetler and Jayden Stevens each finished with five points for the Golden Lions (1-8, 0-1).

Pittsburgh Central Catholic 54 Penn-Trafford 45

Penn-Trafford dropped its section opener at Pittsburgh Central Catholic 54-45 in a Section 3-6A showdown.

Franklin Regional 59 Penn Hills 55

Caden Smith poured in a game-high 25 points to lead Franklin Regional to 59-55 upset of previously unbeaten Penn Hills in Section 3-5A. The Panthers (2-7, 1-2). outscored the Indians 17-9 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory. In addition to Smith, Cam Rowell and Fin Hutchison also finished in double-figures for FR with 15 and 11 points respectively.

Belle Vernon 95 Southmoreland 59

Quinton Martin finished with a double-double as Belle Vernon secured a Section 3-4A home victory against Southmoreland. Martin collected 22 points and 15 rebounds for the Leopards. He was one of five players to finish in double-figures for Belle Vernon (9-0, 3-0) as Devin Whitlock scored 18 points, Alonzo Wade had 13, Joe Klanchar collected 12 points and Braden Laux came in with 11. Isaac Trout and Ty Keefer both scored 14 points for the Scotties (3-4, 0-2).

Elizabeth Forward 56 Mount Pleasant 39

A poor second half doomed Mount Pleasant in a 56-39 loss to Elizabeth Forward in a Section 3-4A tussle. The Vikings led 21-19 at halftime but were outscored 37-18 in the second half. Aden Wisnewski finished with 21 points for Mount Pleasant (3-6, 1-2).

Knoch 66 Derry Area 59

Derry Area got off to a quick start but couldn't capitalize on it, falling at home to Knoch 66-59 in Section 1-4A play. The Trojans held a 21-12 edge through the first quarter but trailed 32-28 at halftime. Knoch extended the lead to eight in the third quarter before the final frame was a one possession game but DA couldn't quite take the lead. Tyson Webb racked up 30 points to pace the Trojans (3-4, 1-2).

Burrell 53 Freeport 48

Burrell built up a 16-5 lead in the first quarter and went on to defeat Freeport 53-48 in a Section 1-4A showdown. Brandon Coury tallied 22 points for the Buccaneers (4-5, 1-2). Coury's teammate, Donovan Callahan, chipped in with 12 points.

East Allegheny 68 Valley 63

Valley hung tough but remained winless on the season, falling at home to East Allegheny 68-63 in Section 3-3A.

Jeannette 75 Propel Braddock Hills 45

Anton Good went off, tallying 32 points in Jeannette's 75-45 Section 3-2A triumph over Propel Braddock Hills. In addition to Good, Lonnie Greene chipped in 12 points and Shane Mickens scored 11 for the Jayhawks (6-2, 1-0).
